Qualitymark Protection provides insurance backed guarantees for solar PV, heat pump, EV charging points and other renewable technologies.
We are recognised as an appropriate insurance backed guarantee provider by MCS & Renewable Energy Consumer Code.
When a renewable technology installation is complete, such as solar PV or a heat pump, the engineer will provide a guarantee to the homeowner. This guarantee will confirm a period of cover, in the unlikely event that something is faulty with the installation. The engineer/installer will also provide additional information about product guarantees too.
The insurance backed guarantee is slightly different to the original guarantee, in that it underpins it, in the event that the engineer/installer goes out of business and is unable to honour their written guarantee.
The insurance backed guarantee is a mandatory requirement needed to become MCS-certified and to be onboarded with the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC). Additionally, for those installers that are also TrustMark Registered, they are expected to provide their customer with the appropriate level of financial protection.
Installers that may be installing under various government-funded schemes are also required to provide financial protection in the form of insurance backed guarantees. This is required to receive the funding.

Nice to deal with a real person, very professional and made getting the correct Insurance easy. First class service from my relationship manager.
The accreditation process with Qualitymark was very straightforward and they were very helpful in getting me through. They require a reassuring amount of detail, meaning that I can be happy that they are not just accepting anyone onto their programme, but at the same time it’s not too onerous so that a small company with limited access to administrative staff, like my own, is not put off.
