As a TrustMark Approved financial protection provider, we work with several of the main Consumer Codes and Certification Bodies such as MCS and RECC.
How Does a Heating IBG Work?
When a new heating system is installed, the installer will provide a guarantee among other documentation. This written guarantee will outline a period in which the installer will return to fix any problems.
The insurance backed guarantee underpins this, in the event that the installer goes out of business and is unable to honour their written guarantee. In this instance, the homeowner would have the ability to make a claim on the IBG.
Why Do I Need an IBG?
For any installer that is currently or thinking about becoming registered with MCS and/or RECC, then an insurance backed guarantee is a mandatory requirement to gain certification.
If you are a TrustMark Registered businesses you are also expected to provide financial protection.
An insurance backed guarantee is also a great selling tool to help provide your customers with added peace of mind and confidence, which could help to increase your quotation conversions.

How much Does it Cost?
We do not charge any onboarding, subscription or monthly fees. We operate on a pay-on-demand process, meaning you’ll simply only pay for what you see on our price list. Some of our heating policies start from £12.32* per policy.

*This price is inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax (IPT). Each registration made with Qualitymark Protection is subject to a registration fee of £1.95 +VAT.
What Period of Cover is Available?
For MCS-certified and RECC installers, it is a mandatory requirement that a minimum of a 2-year insurance backed guarantee is undertaken. For others, there are other periods of cover available, such as 1,2,5 and 10-year insurance backed guarantees available.

How do I purchase an Insurance Backed Guarantee?
Before we are able to supply insurance to an installer, they must undergo our vetting and accreditation process. This involves providing evidence of your financial stability and installation competency.

Your application is reviewed by our accreditation team.

Applications take 5-7 working days to process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Qualitymark insurance backed guarantees are exclusively available for Qualitymark Protection Accredited Installers. To join, you must first submit our online application form.
There are no charges involved in becoming an Accredited Installer with Qualitymark Protection. We do not charge any upfront, onboarding or subscription fees. We operate on a pay-on-demand basis.
Unfortunately, we do not provide commercial insurance backed guarantees at this time.
Qualitymark Protection does not notify building control, nor do we take partake in any site visits. We put our trust in you once accredited.
Yes, of course. We can provisionally accept you as a Qualitymark Protection Accredited Installer without your certification. However, only when we receive your certification will your account go live.
