Qualitymark Protection provides insurance-backed guarantees (IBGs) for roofing projects, including flat roofs, pitched roofs, and combined roofing systems. We work with thousands of roofers across the UK, helping them offer additional peace of mind and protection to their customers. Our IBG is a cease-to-trade policy designed to provide financial protection if the roofer is no longer in business.
After a roofing project is completed, the roofer will issue their own guarantee to the homeowner. This covers a specified period during which the roofer will return to fix any issues related to the original installation. The roofer may also provide separate information on product guarantees.
The insurance backed guarantee, on the other hand, provides financial protection for the homeowner in the event that their roofer goes out of business and is unable to honour their original written guarantee.
Qualitymark Protection IBGs are only available to accredited installers.
Providing an insurance-backed guarantee is a requirement for roofing contractors when work is carried out under certain Competent Person Schemes. For example, since June 2014, schemes such as the National Federation of Roofing Contractors require that financial protection is included with applicable domestic roofing installations.
IBGs also serve as a strong selling point, helping roofers reassure potential customers with added peace of mind and reliable long-term protection.

There are no charges involved in becoming an Accredited Installer with Qualitymark Protection. We do not charge any upfront, onboarding or subscription fees. We operate on a pay-on-demand basis.
Unfortunately, we do not provide commercial insurance backed guarantees at this time.
Qualitymark Protection does not notify building control, nor do we take partake in any site visits. We put our trust in you once accredited.
Yes, of course. We can provisionally accept you as a Qualitymark Protection Accredited Installer without your certification. However, only when we receive your certification will your account go live.
